My oxygen level was way low (80) and my carbon monoxide was very high. My skin color was bluish-grey for 3 weeks. I was so out of it, because of a lack of oxygen, I wasn't able to make a decision or even form a complete sentence.
One day, I remember thinking I was dying. All I was saying was that "I need an ambulance", at which time my husband rushed me to the hospital. I was put into ICU right away and eventually came back to a normal color and level of consciousness. The nurse told me that I was lucky that I was brought in when I was. I was at blood gas levels of respiratory failure.
I am back at home again. Hopefully, I will be okay for a bit longer.
